Hello and welcome to our website

Cavendish was the first purpose built school in Cheshire for children with severe learning difficulties aged 2 - 19 years, officially opening in 1976.

Over the years the School has seen many changes none more so than in 2006, when it became Cavendish High School, as it was re-designated to cater for young people, aged 11-19 years, with Severe Learning Difficulties, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, including those with Autistic Spectrum Condition, and again in 2014 when the school took on Academy status and became The Cavendish High Academy. However the ethos has never changed, and is reflected in our vision statement:

"All at Cavendish High respect the dignity and worth of each individual pupil. Through a caring and sensitive environment we ensure the highest quality educational provision, which will support the learning and development of every young person. Our pupils are entitled to equality of opportunity so that they are able to participate in society as valued and contributing members."

Every Child (truly) Matters at Cavendish High Academy, and has done so since 1976.

At Cavendish we strive to ensure all of students can maximise their potential and achievements through opportunity and partnership.

We hope you find all of the information you need and that the website gives you an insight into our school.

At Cavendish High Academy we aim to:

Work hard to make this a welcoming, busy, safe and healthy school, where you will see happy, respectful children who enjoy learning and are doing their very best to achieve their full potential now and later in life.
